TENTEMPIÉ

Galería PANAM, Santiago Chile - 2019

Tentempié refers to the act of resisting while standing: standing in battle, standing firm before exhaustion, despair, or adversity. It is also an acknowledgment of collapse. A body collapses from exhaustion or before unbearable suffering. One falls into illness or madness, yet it is precisely at that limit — in the vertigo of imminent collapse — where the act of resisting acquires meaning.
