Boris Campos Ernst (Chile, 1984)

Boris Campos Ernst is a visual artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree specializing in Printmaking from Universidad ARCIS, Chile. He taught at the university for nine years, where he shared classrooms with master printmakers Carlos Donaire and Guillermo Frommer.

His artistic research focuses on the displacement of printmaking into large-scale formats, using fabric as both support and destination for different hand-printed graphic techniques such as woodcut, screen printing, monotype, and frottage. Through a highly detailed visual sensibility, Campos Ernst constructs dense, delirious, and violent spaces — scenes rebuilt from an instinctive graphic language that immerse viewers in a reality perceived through the body, in a kind of prosaic phantasmagoria.

His work has been exhibited at MAC Parque Forestal, MAC Quinta Normal, Galería Gabriela Mistral, Centro Nacional de Arte Contemporáneo, Galería Metropolitana, Sala Juan Egenau, Sala Marta Colvin, among others. In 2016, he was nominated for the The Queen Sonja Print Award in Norway. He is currently a professor at Universidad Andrés Bello and Universidad Diego Portales.
